About Eco Warrior Tips

We're a small site with one job: help you figure out if an eco swap actually pays off before you spend money on it.

Why this site exists

Most "savings calculators" you'll find for things like bidets, safety razors, or reusable bottles are built by the companies selling them. The math is usually right — but the framing is always "you should buy this." There's no calculator that will tell you "actually, for your household, this isn't worth it."

We built that calculator. For every swap we cover, we show you the real math for your actual numbers. Sometimes the answer is "yes, this pays off in three months." Sometimes it's "for a single person who only shaves twice a week, a $150 safety razor doesn't make sense — stick with cartridges."

How we make money

Affiliate commissions. When you click through to Amazon, Tushy, LARQ, or any of the other brands we recommend, we get a small cut if you buy. This is how virtually every content site on the internet works, and we think it aligns incentives reasonably well: we only make money if you actually find a product worth buying.

To keep this honest, we follow three rules:

  • Calculators run first. Product recommendations come after you've seen the math — not before.
  • If the math says don't buy, we say don't buy. Our calculators will tell you when a payback period is too long to bother with.
  • We only recommend products we'd use ourselves or that are widely considered the best in their category. We don't accept pay-for-placement.

Our assumptions

Every calculator on this site footnotes its assumptions with links to the underlying sources — EPA data, peer-reviewed studies, manufacturer specs, or industry consensus figures. When an assumption is contested (like how much a bidet actually reduces toilet paper use), we pick the conservative end of the range so the calculator doesn't oversell the case for switching.

If you spot a number that looks off, email us. We'd rather fix a bad assumption than defend it.

What's next

We're launching with three calculators: bidet, safety razor, and reusable water bottle. Over the coming months we'll add more — induction vs. gas stove, electric vs. gas mower, heat pump ROI, reusable menstrual products, and a few surprises. If there's one you'd like to see, let us know.
